Where does the money go?
All funds raised by the Ride for Jim will be donated to a foundation established in his memory at the Medical College of Virginia. Please make donations directly through the foundation at MCV.
What will the money be used for?
The James D. Popp Student Research Fund has been established at the MCV Foundation to honor Jim’s life. Our goal is to create an endowed fund that it will generate sufficient income to cover travel and living expenses for a first year medical student to do cancer related research following the first year of medical school much as Jim did. The intent is to expose bright medical students to the world of cancer research with the hope that the experience will lead them to specialize in oncology and pursue a career that incorporates cancer research and patient care.
